IGNOU PhD Admission 2025-26: Interview schedule for admission of candidate for the IGNOU PhD Admission 2024 July Session for History  programme. Interview of the candidate will be conducted on 27 January 2025 to 30 January 2025 as per the schedule. 1. Candidate shall bring the  7 copies of brief research proposal with little rational/introduction, objectives and research methodology of the study (not exceeding 1000 words).
2. PhD is a regular full-time/part-time academic programme. Selected candidate will be guided by supervisors at IGNOU headquarters, New Delhi only.
3. IGNOU PhD programme is NOT on offer through distance education mode.
4. NO TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the interview. IGNOU does not have provision for accommodation/hostel facility for research scholars.8

Entrance exam will be conducted online with objective Multiple choice questions that must be completed within 3 hours (180 minutes). It consists of 100 questions, offering 1 mark for each question with no negative marking in both Hindi and English.

IGNOU PhD Fee structure

The Doctor of Philosophy programme fee structure at IGNOU may vary depending upon the specialization that students opt out of those 30+ specializations.

• For a three-year programme the cost of the fees are somewhere around INR 17,850.
• In case a student is pursuing the doctoral degree program without coursework then the annual fee would be INR 8,400. 
• The average annual IGNOU PhD course fee ranges between INR 8,400 to INR 9,450.
• IGNOU PhD registration fee is INR 1000 and INR 800 for reserved category.

IGNOU PhD Result 2025-26

IGNOU’s PhD Results for the 2024 July sessions will be released in April 2025 after the conduction of the entrance test, which is on 8 January 2025. The application period for admission to the PhD program at IGNOU is open, with the final submission date set for 19 November 2024. The entrance examination is planned for 8 January 2025, and candidates will be able to download their admit cards starting a week before the entrance exam.
