IGNOU MCA Admission 2025-26: 31 August 2025 is the last date to apply for IGNOU MCA Admission 2025-26. IGNOU Admission to postgraduate, undergraduate, diploma, and all certificate courses are taken under two sessions in January and July; the IGNOU Admission July session will begin on 10 July 2025. The Eligibility criteria are that the candidate must have completed higher education or a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks for the general category and 45% for the SC/ST category. IGNOU Online MCA Admission 2025-26

IGNOU online MCA Online offered in the January session, is designed to equip students with the skills needed for a successful career in the software industry. This flexible course spans at least two years and can be extended up to four years. The eligibility criteria are that candidates must have completed a BCA/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a BSc/BCom/BA With Mathematics at the 10+2 level. However, students who lack Mathematics in their 10+2 or graduation are not eligible for this programme. The last date of IGNOU Online MCA Admission 2025-26 is 31 August 2025.

IGNOU MCA Assignments

The MCA program comprises 16 theoretical subjects, each with an assignment worth four credit points. All assignments must be submitted annually, contributing to the total credits per year, ultimately enhancing the Term End Examination (TEE) grade. For the June 2025 TEE, the deadline for submitting IGNOU MCA assignments is 31 May 2025, and both online and offline assignments are available.

IGNOU Assignments can be downloaded from the student support section on the homepage at ignou.ac.in. Assignment results typically take 30 to 45 days to be updated on the portal, and in some cases, they may be released simultaneously with the TEE results. Assignments in the Ignou MCA program account for 30% of the overall score in the Term End exams, with the remaining grades derived from the written examination. This component is crucial for determining eligibility to participate in the TEE. 

IGNOU MCA Fees 

IGNOU fee structure for obtaining an MCA degree at IGNOU is ₹64,800 for a 2-year program with 4 semesters occurring half yearly for two consecutive years. IGNOU MCA fees of ₹48000 must be paid in installments of ₹12,000, semester-wise, for 4 semesters after the June and December term-end exams. Additionally, a one-time registration fee of INR 300 and a ₹1400 fee for non-math students is mandated during the first year, which is non-refundable.

IGNOU MCA Study Material

IGNOU MCA study materials can be accessed online via the official IGNOU website www.ignou.ac.in. To download these materials, students must first register for an account at egyankosh.ac.in/registration. IGNOU’s MCA study materials can be acquired by visiting the IGNOU regional centre in person or receiving them through the postal service at your residence. For many students, the latter option may be more convenient; however, it may require a longer waiting period than the immediate access provided by a visit to the regional centre.

The printed materials and books are sent to the learner’s registered address via speed post, and there are no additional charges for these materials, as they are included in the course fee. The program comprises 15 theory courses, contributing to credit points over the year, with 30% of the marks derived from assignments. Moreover, students can enhance their preparation by downloading examination papers from previous years from the downloads section in the student services tab.

IGNOU MCA Syllabus

The MCA program in IGNOU consists of 15 theory subjects and six practical courses, and it has an annual project with 80 credit points. IGNOU MCA program consists of assignments or practical worksheets that carry 30% of the Term-end exam weightage, and the remaining marks are given based on the theory exam’s performance. You must have completed your bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks and have maths in 10+2  or have completed bridge courses like MCS-201 (Python and C) and MCS-208 (Data structure and algorithm)  to be eligible to have maths as a subject in MCA.

Some of the courses in MCA are Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Discrete Mathematics, software and Web Designing, DAA  and Web Design Lab, Advanced Internet Technologies, Computer Graphics and Multimedia, etc. The IGNOU MCA syllabus is divided into semesters, with the first, second, third, and fourth semesters having 8, 7, 6, and 3 courses, including 15 theory and five practical courses. 

IGNOU MCA Grade card

The IGNOU MCA grade card is an official record that outlines a student’s academic achievements, encompassing the grades attained, course titles, course codes, credit values, and grade points for a particular semester or program. Furthermore, it includes the SGPA for that semester and the CGPA for the entire program. IGNOU grade cards for the June TEE 2025 will be made available on the official website following the conclusion of the examinations. It is similar to a mark sheet, which lists the subjects a student has pursued, the examinations they have completed, the respective marks received in the Term-end exams, and the marks from assignments.
