IGNOU BEd Admission 2025-26

The application form for IGNOU BEd Admission 2025 will be set open on 10 December 2024 at IGNOU’s official portal, www.ignou.ac.in. Admission to IGNOU’s BEd is offered on the basis of the result of the entrance test IGNOU conducts once a year. BEd in IGNOU is a 2-year cumulative education studies program designed and curated for students who wish to make a career in the education sector.

Apart from the common entrance test, to be eligible for the IGNOU BEd Admission 2025,  you should have completed your basic undergraduate degree or Bachelor’s program from a UGC or AICTE-recognised university or hold a diploma in Elementary education, have a minimum age of 21 years (no upper limit), mark sheet showcasing a minimum 50% score in Bachelor’s degree. IGNOU BEd Admission Eligibility Criteria

The Bachelor of Education (BEd) program offered by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is distinct in that it requires an entrance examination, unlike other programs available at the institution. This program can be completed in a span of two years, with a maximum allowable duration of five years. To qualify for application, candidates must have achieved a minimum of 50% in their 10+2 examinations as well as in their undergraduate studies, and there are no specific age restrictions.

Admissions for the IGNOU BEd program for the academic year 2025-26 will be announced in January and July. Apart from these basic requirements, students have to pass an entrance test with a good score, depending on their background. If you belong to a general category, you ought to score above 75-78, and if you come from a SC/ST/OBC background, you have to score more than 55/50/60 respectively. 

IGNOU BEd Entrance Exam 2025

The Bachelor of Education program in IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) is an entrance-based program. The IGNOU BEd Entrance exam will be conducted on 16 March 2025 and the application form will be released on 10 December 2024 and will remain open until 28 February 2025. IGNOU BEd Entrance Test Admit Card

BEd from IGNOU is a 2-year program (maximum 5 years) offering complete education studies, including pedagogy, human development, educational psychology, communication skills, etc. There are no eligibility criteria or maximum age limit for the program, but you need to complete your Bachelor’s with a minimum of 50% and clear an entrance exam to get into the BEd program.

The IGNOU BEd entrance exam is a 2-hour offline entrance exam that has 100 multiple-choice questions given in English or Hindi. IGNOU BEd entrance test admit card will be released 1 week before the entrance test date, which is 7 January 2025. To download and obtain your IGNOU BEd entrance test admit card, visit ignou.ac. and click on the hall ticket link on the homepage. Proceed further by adding your control number, phone number, and DOB and submitting the form to download the admit card. 

IGNOU BEd Entrance Result

BEd admissions in IGNOU is a test-based process where students have to pass an entrance exam in order to get into this program. IGNOU BEd entrance result will be released in the last week of February 2025, along with the cutoff list of the Bachelor of Education admission. The cutoff in the entrance result is higher due to competition among the applicants and a limited number of seats available in a regional centre.

Thus, every applicant must know the application and exam dates and start the preparation in advance. Indira Gandhi National Open University will release the application forms for the same on 10 December 2024, which will remain open before the new year 2025, and the exam will be conducted on 28 February 2025.

IGNOU BEd Grade card

Indira Gandhi National Open University conducts IGNOU BEd Admissions once a year through entrance exams in which more than 20,000 applicants take the entrance exam to pursue the BEd program through a distance learning medium. The IGNOU BEd Grade card is released 30-45 days after the entrance exam on IGNOU’s official portal along with the results. You can obtain your IGNOU BEd card at the IGNOU’s portal once the result is set out after the entrance exam.

If you see an empty screen or UFM, it might be due to paper rejection or unfair means applied in the entrance exam.

IGNOU BEd Fees

IGNOU BEd is the most pursued course after Bachelor’s degrees by most of the students willing to enter the profession of education and teaching. The application window will remain open for more than a month, during which candidates can register for the entrance examination by paying a fee of ₹1000. Upon successfully passing the entrance test, students may then apply for the course.

The total fee for the BEd program at IGNOU is ₹55,000, which can be paid in instalments over the two-year duration of the course. This program is accredited and recognized, making it suitable for those intending to take the central teacher eligibility test entrance examinations. It is important to note that only 50 seats are available at each IGNOU regional centre for the BEd program, which adds to the competitive nature of the admission process. In order to qualify for the course, applicants must achieve more than 50% in their high school and BA, BSc or any UG course.
